This month the Manasota FFA Federation restarted after 7 years of being inactive. The new advisors hosted officer screening available to all high school students in Manatee and Sarasota (the counties in the Federation's jurisdiction), and I along with 15 other students went through an interview process with a panel of interviewers who would place us in the 10 available officer positions. I was slated for the position of Federation President. This year I and the Federation officer team are working to help reestablish the Federation and inspire unity by attending many events throughout the year representing Manasota, hosting a kick off meeting and a number of social events for all members, and working with District 10 (which serve as president of and encompasses 6 counties, including both Manatee and Sarasota county) to host a leadership retreat for interested members. In addition to these efforts, we will be working towards positively impacting out community by hosting multiple service events and projects, with the hope that working as a federation will expand the breadth of our impact father than we could accomplish individually or as individual schools.
