FFA Banquet Season

Being the President of my FFA chapter and a District Office candidate means I get the privilege of being able to attend the banquets of many other FFA chapters across our district. That's one of my favorite things about FFA, and not something I've experienced in the other clubs I'm in- being in FFA is truly like being in a family. We support each other, attend each other's banquets and awards ceremonies, go on trips together, and truly are there for each other. We practice with each other for competitions even if we are competing against one other, because we want to help each other do well. I've made really great friends from other chapters as well, who I've kept in touch with in and outside of FFA.

Although I have attended local banquets in past years, being a District Officer candidate, which is the highest office a high school student can hold (State and National FFA officers are college students), means I've been able to attend more banquets than I previously had. I've attended eight banquets this past month and have really enjoyed being able to meet their members, see their achievements, and support them. I've had the privilege of being able to speak at many of them as well.
