Senior FFA Banquet

Writer's picture: Emma ReinischEmma Reinisch

Yesterday, I had my fourth and final FFA End-of-Year banquet. This exciting event marks the conclusion of a successful year full of events, service, competition, and achievements for my chapter, and concludes a bittersweet year for myself- with my last competitions, last conventions and leadership development events, and last year serving in the chapter, District, and Federation leadership positions I held.

In the award section of the banquet, I was recognized for my efforts this year by receiving the Veterinary Science High Point Award, Cattleman's Herdsman Award, and Cattlewomen's Achievement Award, as well as pins for my participation in the Forestry and Veterinary Science competitions. I was also recognized for showing dairy goats at the county fair, the chapter hog, a dairy heifer at the country fair, my personal beef heifer at the county fair, and chapter beef breeding cattle at the county and state fair.

In the senior recognition ceremony I received my sash to wear at graduation along with the other seniors in the chapter, and got to watch a slideshow put together by a younger member of all we had done during our years in the chapter. It was an emotional night to retire my jacket in the club I'd been most active in and had found a home in for the prior four years and say goodbye to all the friends I had made, in my chapter and the other chapters in attendance.
