Today I competed in my final Speech and Debate tournament: the Catholic Forensics League Grand Finals. I competed in Congress, which has been my favorite event since joining Speech and Debate and involves writing and debating legislation on various topics. I love this event because you debate a wide range of topics which expands my knowledge of current events and also improves my research and writing skills as you must prepare a large number of speeches in a short period of time. Comparatively, for many other debate events you debate the same topic multiple times.
At this tournament, which was a two-day event, I wrote on a number of topics including sanctioning Erithrea, and the Muslim genocide in China.
